Abia State University (ABSU) has released the academic calendar for the 2024/2025 session, detailing essential dates and activities for both new and returning students.

ABSU Academic Calendar 2025 First Semester

• Monday, 3rd March 2025: Arrival and registration of new students (1 week).
• Saturday, 8th March 2025: Resumption and registration of returning students.
• Monday, 10th March 2025: Commencement of lectures.
• Friday, 14th March 2025: Orientation program for fresh students.
• Friday, 11th April 2025: Matriculation ceremony for new students.
• Thursday, 17th April – Monday, 21st April 2025: Easter break.
• Friday, 30th May 2025: Conclusion of lectures (12 weeks).
• Tuesday, 3rd June – Friday, 6th June 2025: Revision period (1 week).
• Monday, 9th June – Friday, 4th July 2025: Examination period (3 weeks).
• Saturday, 5th July – Sunday, 20th July 2025: Semester break (2 weeks).

Total Duration: 17 weeks.

Second Semester

• Monday, 21st July 2025: Resumption and registration (1 week).
• Monday, 28th July 2025: Start of lectures (12 weeks).
• Friday, 17th October 2025: End of lectures.
• Monday, 20th October – Friday, 24th October 2025: Revision period.
• Monday, 27th October – Friday, 14th November 2025: Examination period (2 weeks).
• Saturday, 15th November 2025: Conclusion of the 2024/2025 academic session.

Total Duration: 16 weeks.

The 2025/2026 academic session is scheduled to commence on Monday, 1st December 2025.
